Understanding Energy Medicine
and what it can do for your horse
Do you really understand what energy medicine is? The whole point of this series is to help you understand it's purpose, it's strengths and it's applications for your horse. Then to eventually show you how you can actually learn to provide energy healing to your own horse!
If you have ever wanted to provide more complementary medicine to your horse but couldn't afford it, if you were unsure of it's benefit, if you ever wanted to supplement your horses health between your practitioners visits or if you just want to positively affect how your horse experiences life and health, you are in the right place.
Is your horse suffering from pain? Injury? Poor health? Fighting an illness? Have past trauma or bad experiences? Or do you just want to provide the utmost care?
START HERE and work through the series. At the end I will show you how you can learn more.
Discover the World of Energy
How many of you have been in this scenario before? By all western medical standards, you are fine. So then why do you feel so bad?
Now, think about how your horse may feel. They can’t even voice that something isn’t quite right. Instead, they may be sour to tack up, grouchy to get on the trailer, refuse to go forward, have an intermittent lameness or worse yet get completely body sore compensating. How are they supposed to tell you?
Enter the world of energy medicine.
I bet you are familiar with the standard western medical model of health care. In fact, you totally understand how that model works. That’s why it’s easy to understand massage therapy, myofascial release, chiropractic care and other complementary therapies that can easily be described in western medical terms. But what about these other therapies that seem to allude you?
How does Traditional Chinese Medicine work?
Often these modalities are passed by or embraced with a half hearted commitment just because they can’t be explained by western medicine. That’s changing though as more and more research is done into energy and energy healing.
What I want to share is the stories of 20 years of practicing acupuncture with a primary emphasis on horses. What works, what doesn’t, what you are missing and what is passing you by. See, there are some huge misunderstandings preventing you from embracing a truly spectacular healing for your horse. Why? Because no one has sat you down and told you the honest truth.
“In every medical tradition before ours, healing was accomplished by moving energy.”
- Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, Biochemist and Nobel Prize winner
A deeper dive into understanding energy medicine, its role in the grand scheme of your horse's health and how it fits in with other modalities.
We cover quite of a bit of info here based on my own experience of 20 years. You will find it super helpful for a general comprehension of what you can expect, how to approach your horse's treatments and what we are actually looking for.
I encourage everyone to keep using western medicine (your traditional vet), massage therapist, chiropractors, reiki healers or whatever medicine you choose, I just want to shed light on Chinese Medicine and how it can work for you and your horse.
Understanding is Key.
Knowledge is Power.
Power to make the right decisions for your horse and to explore how you can become more involved in your horse's healing and health.
What can you influence for healing with Chinese Medicine? What are the body SYSTEMS affected? and what particular STRUCTURES?
We talk about it all here. If you ever wondered what acupuncture or acupressure can really do for your horse? I bet you didn't even knows how vast this medicine is and what you can use it for.
Diagnostics in Chinese Medicine
In human practice there is no use of diagnostics according to western medical terms. Instead we use differentiation of syndromes so the diagnostics are something like Wood overacting on Earth or Liver Yang Rising or Heart Yin Deficiency. In the US, this has not been adhered to. While practitioners can learn to feel energy with their hands and make a suggestion about finding a western medical problem associated with the feeling, in Chinese Medicine this would not occur. I feel that the common practice of mixing the two has lead to a lot of confusion especially amongst veterinarians, owners and trainers.
I share some of my experiences treating horses so you can better understand how this can be helpful to you. This isn't about me. It's about bringing health to your horse. It's about you having the the power in your hands to make decisions about your horse's life and health and ultimately about you learning to extend this healing to your horse via your hands.
You can totally do this!
I can teach you how!
